“The liberation and peace of an individual is surely based upon his or her contribution towards the collective human happiness and harmony.” says Beloved Papa, Swami Ramdas. A family’s happiness hinges on society’s happiness, which, in turn, depends on the country’s happiness. A country can be happy only if the neighbouring countries are happy. In short we can be happy only if the whole world is happy. However the world has been going through physical and mental suffering caused by fire, floods, cyclone, earthquake, mutual fighting etc.

Moved by this situation, Pujya Mataji Krishnabai made an appeal in the month of October 1978 to the effect that we should love and serve all beings and creatures with our body, mind and wealth, to usher in peace and harmony throughout the world. Though everybody may not be in a position to serve physically and materially, all can surely pray mentally for world peace. This can best be done by chanting God’s holy and all-powerful Name – any name that one chooses – because, the Name is an unfailing key that unlocks the gates of the heart, permitting an outflow of immortal love, wisdom and power.

Pujya Mataji fixed a Nama Japa target of 15,500 crores and added, “My earnest prayer is that the Japa should exceed the target and continue with all love, devotion and zeal until peace and happiness is established on the earth and in the hearts of all.”

Responding to Pujya Mataji’s appeal, devotees have been pooling Nama Japa regularly and the count crossed the initial target of 15,500 in early September 2011. Inspired by the enthusiasm of devotees and as prompted by Pujya Mataji coinciding with her 108th Jayanthi, it was decided to take on a fresh target of 15,500 crores Nama Japa from the 28th of September 2011. Our humble request is that every one may kindly join in this Japa Yagna with intense spiritual fervour.
